Huug Beach or Broken beach is an incomparable beach in the western of Nusa Penida Island with its wonderful sea and cliffs wall view. The name of “(H)uug” comes from local language means “broken”. It’s proven by the condition of the beach in which the beach is formed by disaster a long ago. It is actually not like a beach in general, but more than high cliffs that collapsed down and form such a great caldera with its seawater. This caldera has high cliffs wall, about 40 meters in its height and has diameter along hundred meters besides its white sand. Between the beach (caldera) and the sea, they are connected with a canal under the sensational natural bridge. The canal can be passed by boat, but it is quite dangerous.
On the edge of this caldera, you can cross the sensational natural bridge by walking, motorcycle, or even by car. Around this beach, the scenery becomes more fantastic completed with cliff view and blueocean. In addition, Pasih Uug Beach much more quiet and comfortable since the remoteness of the settlements.
This incomparable beach is located in Banjar Sumpang, Bunga Mekar Village, in the western of Nusa Penida Island. The location of this amazing place is not too far from Sampalan harbor, only about 30 km and takes an hour through the land, besides from the sea by boat or traditional ship. Remember, the road is quite rough or bit adventure.
